Mojo Monday 329 entry #2

This is for a special friend of mine whose birthday is coming up. And can you guess?? She loves to sew. So I used a rectangle instead of a circle for the primary image. Hope she likes it!

Mojo Monday 329 entry and My Creative Life 2014 cricut entry

So, I am doing a class at My Creative Classroom called My Creative Life 2014. And we had to make crafting goals for the year. One of my goals is to enter 4 challenges per week. So, here is the first one. It is for Mojo Monday. You can find the challenge here: http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2014/01/mojo-monday-329.html
I actually made two cards for this challange. The first one will be on this post and the second one on a different post.
I am also using this card to enter the cricut card challenge at the Creative Life 2014 blog which you can find here:http://mycreativelife2014.blogspot.com/. The cut circle in the middle under the rose is cut from cricut.

As some of you know, one of my goals for this year is to make more cards for Operation Write Home. This organization takes handmade cards and sends them to servicemembers overseas to use to write home to their family and friends. I can almost imagine the joy of a wife or girlfriend receiving a beautiful card with a message from their deployed loved one. There have been stories of these servicemembers having nothing better than post it notes to write home on. They deserve better. Hello, all you card makers, check them out on the web and see if you would like to participate. If you host a cardmaking class maybe your members would like to take part in this. Let's support our troops in this very tangible way.
Here is another LO of dear grandson. I used a sketch from pintrest and doctored it up to suit me. Just because you use a sketch for inspiration does not mean you end up following the sketch exactly, maybe you use one or two elements to get you started. Then you let your imagination and creativity take over and you will love the results. The blue and white chevron piece was from the packaging of some embellishments. Use everything in a creative way and cut your budget!

Non-Christmas Layouts

I am officially done scrapping Christmas 2014. All the Layouts are even in an album, their own album because there are so many layouts. So, this weekend I got to catch up a little on non-Christmas pictures. I have a ton of pics of my grandson waiting to be scrapped. Here are a few. I hope you find some inspiration here. Please leave some comments too. They sure do encourage me!

Frosted Designs Friday Challenge

This is the Layout I did for the Frosted Designs Friday Challenge. The Challenge was to use a sketch they provided along with mist, ink, and/or paint. I used the Heidi Swapp gold mist. (can you tell I love this stuff??) and ruby ink from CTMH to ink the edges of the papers. And here is the sketch I used from http://stucksketches.blogspot.com/. Thanks for looking.
Here are some of the layouts that I made before Christmas to have them all ready for photos. I think I like this idea, once I got my photos all I had to do was add them and voila! the layout was done! It works really well for standard size photos, but you could do the same thing with common dimensions also.

I have really enjoyed being a messy scrapper for my Christmas Layouts. I used gesso, German glass glitter, micro beads, mists, embossing powder, textured trims, and inks and die cuts.

I loved making this with some of my favorite photos from this Christmas season using Clear Scraps products, Heidi Swapp mist, gold embossing powder, stickles, and Anna Griffin greeting in the middle section.
