Vintage
I had not done anything really vintage/shabby chic in a while and was aching to do so. Here it is:
I used style board from Maggie Holmes. Some distress stain from Tim Holtz. Kaiserkraft rub on, Heidi Swapp words, Adorn it wooden pieces. Webster's Pages doily. Mother Nature-harmony pp from my frosted designs kit. And some Teresa Collins washi tape. Hope this inspires you to do something vintage too.

For Challenge #12 Game Pieces at Scrap our Stash
You can find Scrap our stash here: http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/
This challenge was to use game pieces. My paw-paw loved to play cards almost more than anything. We indulged him often, because we loved playing with him too. Even his wife joined in sometimes.

DT card for Scrapbook Blessings Club
The card challenge today is called "Say It With Words". You are to use a sentiment on the front of your card. For my card I fussy cut the hot air balloon and mounted it with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of cardstock 4.5 inches by 1.5 inches. Then I inked the edges. I also used a border to put on both sides of the sentiment to further call attention to it. The PP and stamps are CTMH. Here it is:

Border Layers with Graphic 45 Botanical Tea
This is a LO of my friend Jenise using Graphic 45's new line called Botanical Tea. Beautiful colors from them as usual. I cut some templates for border layers with my cricut and traced them on the back of the PP and cut them out. Easy as pie. I got the idea for the border layers from Kiwi Designs that sells templates to make these kinds of LO's. You could even do the layers without templates, just cut. Hope this inspires you to try your own border layers.

Layout for Scrapbook Joey Challenge
This is the Layout I did for the recipe challenge over at Scrapbook Joey. This company is in the process of producing a scrapbooking game. The recipe challenge called for hexagons, chevrons, one enlarged photo, ribbon, and something more than a year old from your stash. The number card is many years old, probably at least 7. This is my DS at just a few months old. Isn't he adorable?

For my first design team contribution at Scrapbook Blessings Club I made this card using punches.
You can find the challenge here on the SBC blog: http://scrapbookblessings.blogspot.com/.
I started with pink cardstock measuring 7 inches by 10 inches to make the card 5 inches by 7 inches. I cut a piece of PP from CTMH Chantilly collection to 5 inches by 7 inches and glued it to the inside of the card on the right side so it would show through where I punched the corners of the card front. To punch the two right corners I opened both wings of the Martha Stewart corner punch and punched both corners. To punch the two left corners open just one of the wings, open up the card, line up one edge of the card front on the wing and then line up the fold line on your card with the little silver mark on the side of the punch opposite the side where you have the wing open. Repeat for the bottom left corner by using the opposite wing. Then you can see the PP that is on the inside of the card through the punched corners. I put a rhinestone on the PP so it would show through part of the punched out area.

Then I prepared my border strips. I measured the silver picture of what the punched edge is supposed to look like and doubled that measurement. Then I cut my border strip to that size. I punched both sides of the border strip being careful to match up the pattern on both sides. You will get results like the borders above and below the stamped image. It is a digital stamp from our challenge prize provider this week at the SBC blog. I printed it on glossy photo paper and colored with CTMH alcohol markers. Then punch out a butterfly from the same PP as you use for the inside of the card. Attach all your pieces to the card front and embellish as desired. I cut a 3 inch by 4 inch piece of plain pink cardstock for the inner right side of the card for my sentiment and message to be written on. I hope you learned something new today and will join in the challenge and enter your creation for a chance to win!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a Scrapbook Blessings kind of day.
See you next time.
